Program to Feature Missouri Accident Investigators
On Dec. 2, the Automotive Service Association (ASA), ASA-Midwest and the Missouri Alliance of Automotive Service Providers (AASP-MO) will host the second annual safety inspection forum in St. Louis, Mo. The Forum’s mission is to raise awareness about the importance of periodic vehicle inspection programs to motorist’s safety and develop strategies to protect these programs nationwide.
Capt. Lester D. Elder, of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, will be featured as one of the forum’s key panelists. With a law enforcement career spanning 25 years, Elder will share his experiences as division director of the Motor Vehicle Inspection Division. Joining Elder will be Paul Rehbein, senior chief MVI inspector and Sgt. Paul Meyer, Major Crash Team investigator.
Additional information on the forum’s presenters will be made available over the next few weeks.
Registration for the program is available online.
In November 2014, the Automotive Service Association (ASA) held the first safety inspection forum in Philadelphia, Pa. The presenters covered a range of topics including the importance of vehicle safety inspection programs in the prevention of crashes, threats to existing programs, and potential changes to the program in Pennsylvania and other states. Audience members contributed to the conversation, providing valuable insight and offering suggestions on how to improve consumer education and safety inspections overall.
Due to the success of the 2014 event, ASA plans to conduct the forum annually.
